Springsites work together to help those in need

“We are very happy that we are able to work together to help the people of Springs most affected by this pandemic."

TradePort partnered with the City of Ekurhuleni to prepare and deliver food packages to the needy residents of Springs on Thursday.

The company delivered six trucks of food supplies to the Springs Fresh Produce Market, who then packed them into food packages which will be delivered to various communities in need.

Needy residents applied for the packages at the Fresh Produce Market and the number of packages their household received was determined by the number of dependents living with them.

City of Ekurhuleni mayor Mzwandile Masina was present and says: “I think we have seen today that if South Africans work together they can really make a difference in their communities.

“We need to help as many communities as possible, and we really appreciate all the NGOs who are doing their part to help during these difficult and trying times.”

Sales and marketing specialist of TradePort Zaahid Chunara says: “We are very happy that we are able to work together to help the people of Springs most affected by this pandemic.

“Today is extra special for us because this is the month of Ramadan, which is about giving and being compassionate toward people, and we feel that we have lived up to that today.”
