‘The true onus lies on everyone of us to limit the spread of Covid-19’ – Dr Manyoni
Hospitals are high risk areas for Covid-19; Do not go there if it is not an emergency.

Tsakani- Dr Mncedisi Manyoni of Pholosong Hospital warns public to avoid coming to the hospital, as a safety precaution.
“In level 3 of the national lockdown, we are experiencing an influx of patients due to car accidents, and other illnesses because people are no longer staying home” he explains.
“The numbers are increasing.
“Designated Covid-19 centers are at 80-95 per cent capacity in some instances, and that has a ripple effect.
“We end up having to take care of Covid-19 patients in wards that are not designated for such.
“This has to be done with the limited resources we have.”

“It does not make sense for a person who does not have a life threatening illness to put themselves in danger of contracting something worse than what they already have.
“You don?t want to be waiting long, around people who are sicker than you are.
“We need people to practise all the coronavirus precautions, such as social distancing, wearing a mask, regular hand hygiene.”
The hospital is still on lockdown and this means that no visitors are allowed.Pregnant mothers are encouraged to go to their local clinic and avoid the hospital.
“Only pregnant women who classified as having high risk pregnancies (with diabetes, high blood pressure, multiple pregnancy or a previous cesarean section) and are attending the Antenatal Clinic at Pholosong Hospital, are welcome.
“Pregnant women with normal pregnancies should utilise Maternal Obstetrics Units (MOU) such as Nokuthela Ngwenya in Dunnottar, and Kwa-Thema ‘Main’ Clinic, which are open 24 hours and equipped to deliver babies.”
