Renovations at the Bakerton Stadium are progressing steadily.
As of Friday, construction on the ablution facilities and changing rooms had made significant progress.
The stadium has long been subjected to vandalism and vagrancy and has consequently not hosted any games for some time.

Residents also feel the stadium has become unsafe.
Ward councillor Ramesh Sheodin hopes the renovations will be completed by the end of the year.
“Bakerton residents need to take ownership of the stadium and protect it from any vandalism,” he said.

“Many attempts have been made in the past to upgrade and renovate the stadium, only for it to be vandalised soon after.
Site foreman Patrick Lima explained that despite the lockdown, he and his team are on schedule with the renovations.
