Clyde Industrial Corporation in Nuffield celebrated the opening of a brand new facility on Wednesday afternoon where they will be producing a new form of sanitiser.
The facility has specialised equipment which will produce hypochlorous acid (HOCI), a chlorine-based disinfectant.
According to their presentation, HOCI provides a unique alternative to eradicating dangerous organisms while not causing harm to the body’s cells.
HOCl is one of the only agents that is both non-toxic to the delicate cells that can heal wounds while being lethal to almost all known dangerous bacteria and viruses that threaten people’s health.

Commercial director at Clyde Industrial Corporation Gavin Scott said this new alternative comes after many incidents of people developing allergic reactions to alcohol-based sanitiser.
Alcohol-based sanitiser also dries out the skin.
A hypochlorous solution, however, is an excellent no-rinse hand cleanser that will give people peace of mind that it eliminates bacteria and viruses but without the harsh effects of continued exposure to alcohol.
“People will have to sanitise at most places they go, be that restaurants or at work, and we realised that a safer solution is needed, so we decided to take action,” said Scott.
