Broken gate at Presidentia a cause for concern
Residents are forced to manually push the gate open and closed.
A broken gate at the Presidentia Old Age Home has residents feeling unsafe and frustrated.
According to residents, the large electric gate has been broken since last year and the City of Ekurhuleni has failed to take any action, despite many phone calls and emails.

“We are old and weak and some people are in wheelchairs, which makes it very unsafe
“What will happen if someone gets hurt?” asked resident Eugene Moolman.
Moolman suspects the repeat breakdown is the result of poor metal work.
Residents also feel the broken gate makes them vulnerable to criminals.
