Dancers from Rock-a-Tutu DanceAcademy qualify for Dance World Cup finals

Ashton said the academy will be hosting fund-raisers throughout the year to pay for their dancers overseas trip.

Young dancers from the Rock-a-Tutu Dance Academy in Selcourt competed in the Dance World Cup last weekend and as a team finished first.

The team placed first in Irish dance, Egyptian dance and many other categories.

In total, 41 of the young dancers made it to the finals, which will take place in England in August.

“I am so proud of our dancers. They all worked so hard to achieve their best, and it really showed,” said coach Kayleigh Ashton.

“People see us mostly as a ballet school, but our dancers can do so much more, like contemporary and Acro dance.”

Ashton said the academy will be hosting fundraisers throughout the year to pay for their dancers’ overseas trip.
