AfriForum Springs patrols more than 5 000km during August
The branch also focused on the reopening of local dumping sites and on solving problems around the sewage outfall in the area.

AfriForum’s Springs branch and neighbourhood watch worked hard in August to keep the community safe.
In 557 hours, they patrolled 5 578km in total this past month.
These patrols were held in the streets of Springs.
The branch further assisted following an armed robbery, three motor vehicle accidents and fighting two fires.
Each patroller is trained to handle a range of incidents within the framework of the law.
Meanwhile, the branch also focused on the reopening of local dumping sites and on solving problems around the sewage outfall in the area.

“It was truly a remarkable month for AfriForum’s Springs branch. Each person owes it to themselves to become involved in an organised community structure,” said Dewet Ungerer, AfriForum’s district coordinator for the East Rand.
