Willem Roux (77) is celebrating 25 years of donating blood and has no plans on stopping any time soon.
Over the years, Roux estimates he has donated 250 pints of blood.
Roux said he has been suffering from high blood pressure his whole life and was encouraged by his doctor to donate blood to help with the symptoms.

“When I was younger, I went to donate at least 12 times a year at a place that was very close to my house.
“It always felt good to help people, especially when you know there are a lot of people in need.
“I’ve read that one pint of blood can save the lives of up to three people.
“If you see how much pain and suffering there is in this world and how many people in hospitals need help, then it all becomes worth it,” said Roux.
Roux said he will continue to make the trip to the SANBS blood bank at the Springs Mall to donate blood for as long as he is able to.
