Miss Glam SA first princess gives back to the community
“I am glad that this platform will help me reach my community who are in need. I want to empower young girls and give back to the community.”
Payneville Primary School was recently graced by the presence of the first princess of Miss Glam South Africa Navika Singh, who donated sanitary pads to the girls at the school.
The young woman said being part of the pageant was a long, exciting journey and she was proud to be crowned the first princess of Miss Glam.
“It feels amazing to be part of this programme, especially being the first princess. I am glad that this platform will help me reach my community who are in need. I want to empower young girls and give back to the community,” she said.

“It gives me great pleasure to be here at Payneville Primary School to donate sanitary pads, and I am planning to do more for the school.”
Singh is planning to visit more schools in the area.
“I am ready to take responsibility and assist young girls,” she said.
Founder of Miss Glam SA Mosa Malebo started with empowerment and entrepreneurial programmes.

“I also did pageantry when I decided to start Miss Glam South Africa. Pageantry is not about beauty but giving back to the community, and helping girls to enjoy self-esteem and instil a belief in themselves,” said Malebo.
She said Miss Glam SA is very much about doing charity work for the community. They also focus on starting businesses that will also assist communities.
“We try to teach our girls, even when they have businesses in their area, that it is important for them to give back because the same people in the community support them,” she said.
When they first started last year, they had 80 girls in a six-month programme where they had workshops for shaping and training the girls. The top five Miss South Africa contestants coached the girls.
