Rest easy, mum
It is with great sadness that my siblings David, Susan, James and I announce the death of our mother, Marjory Rosalind Sheldon (née Scott), who slipped away peacefully on her 95th birthday on November 12 at Birkin Lodge Care Home in Tunbridge Wells, UK.

It is with great sadness that my siblings David, Susan, James and I announce the death of our mother, Marjory Rosalind Sheldon (née Scott), who slipped away peacefully on her 95th birthday on November 12 at Birkin Lodge Care Home in Tunbridge Wells, UK.
Affectionately known as Marge, she was born and raised in Dundee, Scotland.
After schooling, she attended the Royal Infirmary in Edinburgh and qualified as a nursing sister.
In the early 1950s, she and a friend travelled to South Africa for a two-year African experience.
A year in Johannesburg and another at the Mine Hospital on the Copper Belt in then Northern Rhodesia (now Zambia) ended up being 67 years in Africa.
Her young family moved to Springs in 1963.
Having raised four children and after my father’s death in 1980, she returned to her passion of helping people.
She joined Hospice as the nursing sister for Springs, supporting patients and families in their hour of need.
In 1992, she was honoured with the Rotary Paul Harris award for her service to the community.
At the age of 75, she finally retired and returned to the UK 12 years ago.
I will always remember her quick wit, love and care for people and never-give-up attitude.
Rest easy, mum.
