New church pastor to bring change to Dunnottar community

Adele, Richard's wife, has been his biggest supporter in this journey to AGS.

Richard Anderson is the new pastor at AGS Dunnottar and aims to reach out to the community and grow the church’s congregation.
Anderson was born in Springs and worked as a quantity surveyor before committing himself to the ministry 15 years ago.
“I worked for quite a big company but felt the Lord calling me to ministry and to help people,” said Anderson.
“I was driving down the N17 when the Lord spoke to me and the next day I resigned and began the journey the He called me to do.”
After his resignation, Anderson obtained a BTh in Theology at the AFM Theological College and joined AGS Lewende Waters in Casseldale where he served as a pastor.

Shortly after, he joined the Charisma Church in Benoni.
Earlier this year, AGS Lewende Waters asked Richard to become the pastor at the church in Dunnottar and he accepted the offer.
“I will go where the Lord calls me and I will always do his Will,” he said.
Anderson will use all 15 years of experience as a pastor to spread the Gospel to the people of Dunnottar and bring them back to God and the church.

Richard Anderson says his wife, Adele, has been his biggest supporter.

He has built his ministry and life on the words of Matthew 29:19 which reads, ‘Go ye therefore and teach all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.’
“AGS is called to be a place of safety and peace, where the Holy Spirit will do according to His will and we want to be part of that,” said Anderson.
Adele, Richard’s wife, has been his biggest supporter in this journey to AGS.
“She has been with me every step of the way and is always willing to help,” he said.

Presently, Anderson is working on revamping the church and making it a place that he and his congregation can be proud of.
He plans to install carpeting, fix the lights and improve his office space and transform it into a place where members of the church can confide in him in privacy.
Anderson feels optimistic about the future of the church and is willing to commit all his time to build his congregation and restoring the church.
“All are welcome to join our church,” says Anderson.
On December 25, the church will be offering a special Christmas service.
The church has also invited Johan Steyn from AGS Familia Dei to visit the church in January.
With all his experience, along with the support of his wife and family, Anderson will do all that it takes to bring the people of Dunnottar to the Kingdom of God.
Anderson can be contacted on 073 026 2951.
