Triplets hit sweet 16 milestone
Born on January 26, 2006, they were the first triplets to be delivered at the Netcare N17 Hospital.
Odelia, Conrad and Theane Scholtz reached another milestone when they celebrated their sweet 16 birthday.
Born on January 26, 2006, they were the first triplets to be delivered at the Netcare N17 Hospital.
The Grade 10 Sonneveld Akademie learners said the best part of growing older is settling into their different identities.
“People expect us to be the same just because we are triplets. But we aren’t,” explained Theane.
They admit that sometimes, they like the same things.
“We all like Coca Cola,” she added.

Outgoing Theane loves reading, dancing, singing and listening to music, while Conrad enjoys cycling and going to the gym.
The quieter of the trio, Odelia, said she only enjoys dancing with Theane.
The sisters created and performed a dance routine at their older sister Serelda’s wedding last year.
“I know I annoy my sisters and sometimes I want to spend some time away from them.
“But as soon as I get to my friend’s house, I miss them and want to go home,” explained Conrad, who has dreams of becoming a racecar driver.

He enjoys cooking with Theane while Odelia likes to keep the house clean.
“We all know what we are good at and we work well as a team,” he said.
All of them agree that being triplets is a beautiful experience.
“We always fight for each other and we get along pretty well,” said Odelia. She wants to be a software engineer in a few years.
“We have a deep connection. Whenever one of them is in trouble or something bad happens to them, I feel sick.
“Then when I check on them I find out that they were going through something at the exact time when I was feeling sick,” added Theane.
The aspiring psychologist admits she is the most talkative of the three.
Parents Annelize and Fanie described the trio as a blessing.
