Fresh from their 52-9 win against Brakpan the previous weekend, St Helen’s Vultures Springs continued on their winning streak when they faced North-West University at the Springs Rugby Stadium on May 14.
The away team dominated the local side by leading 17-12 during the first half of the game.

During halftime, coach Allan Chapman reminded the players how important the match was and that they needed up their game and give it their all.
The Springs forwards started to dominate resulting in a stellar performance during the Valke Perigene League clash.
Chapman admitted it was a difficult game for the team but it meant a lot to him seeing how they fought back.

“I had to calm them down because of the attitude the boys were bringing. Of course, the contenders showed how strong they were by going forward. There were a lot of foul plays but we kept the composure to focus on winning,” he said.

The coach is proud of the team who went on to win the game 25-22. He believes, however, there is still a lot of work to do.
During the game, The Vultures were sporting a new kit in aid of cancer awareness.
They play in honour of those affected by the disease and all their games are dedicated to those fighting cancer.
