Kattitude celebrates six years of service

Kattitude will celebrate their sixth anniversary with fundraisers in the month of July.

Kattitude will celebrate their sixth anniversary with fundraisers in July.
“In order to raise much needed funds to continue to sterilise and feed our ferals we will be holding a cake sale on July 2, from 08:00 until 11:00, at Selcourt Veterinary Hospital.
“Any donations of baked goodies will be highly appreciated and can be dropped off at the veterinary hospital,” explained Lynsey Russell, one of the organisation’s founding members.
Mr Unique will help the group to sell on the day.
Kattitude will also be selling pancakes and bacon and egg rolls, at the same venue, on July 9, from 08:00 to 11:00.
“Any donations of ingredients will be highly appreciated,” added Russell.
In April, Kattitude launched the Little Kattitude Shop at the Selcourt Veterinary Hospital as another way of raising funds.

“The sales we make at the shop will help us feed more feral cats. At this point, we feed about 600 cats per month, and that is about 800kg of cat food. It adds up pretty quickly,” explained Tanya Kitching, one of the NPO’s members.
The group’s main purpose is to trap, sterilise and release feral cats.
“This helps to keep the population down in the feral community, stop unwanted kittens and also prevent the spreading of diseases.
“We are appealing to the community to visit our shop and to donate any items that we can resell. We depend on these funds to keep the organisation going,” added Russell.
Kattitude partners with veterinarian Dr Thulani Mthimunye to ensure that the procedures are medically sound.
Shireen Vlaming, from the organisation, runs the Kattitude auction and shop page on Facebook to maximise sales.
The shop will be open a few mornings every week. Residents are encouraged to stop by and to donate usable goods.
