Making an impact on Mandela Day
Hope, Faith and Grace, a local NPO in Springs, hosted a Mandela Day event on Monday.
In support of Mandela Day, the local NPO Hope, Faith and Grace Community Project opened its doors to the community to drop off non-perishable items and toiletries.
Founder Kerry-Leigh Wright said the aim was to show the impact of kindness and how it can make a difference when added together in helping those in need.
The youth at Hope, Faith and Grace played a large role in receiving the drop-offs.

“Our youth were ready to be of assistance to anyone who stops by. Photos were taken with each drop-off where everyone would see how each minute contribution made a difference,” she said.
The 35 Engineer Support Regiment from the Military Base in Dunnottar also brought donations and they stayed to interact with the youth.
Major Erica Snyman and Captain Mapaseka Tsitsi were delighted to have spent their day at Hope, Faith and Grace.
“We decided to engage with the youth and share our experience and knowledge within the army,” they said.
Kerry-Leigh said all donations will go towards the youth at Hope, Faith and Grace.
