Scouts wash cars for cash

The excursion is educational, and the group aims to gain more knowledge about rhino awareness protection.

The Springs Central Air Group set up a car wash in Lodeyko on Saturday to raise funds.
“Our target is to raise enough money to pay for the Insimbi Rhino Camp in November.
“The excursion is educational, and we expect to gain so much about rhino awareness protection,” explained Melissa Campbell, the group’s troop scouter.

They managed to raise R3 558 and are still a long way from the R20 000 target.
They washed about 20 cars, had a food table, a jumping castle and a jumble sale.
The group will have their next car wash on September 24.
“People can contribute what they can, even if they cannot make it to the car wash,” she added.
More information about the group’s events and how to donate is on their Facebook Page.
