SPCA hosts its first night run

The night run is the first of many runs and events the SPCA hopes to have this coming festive season.

The Springs SPCA held its first night run on October 20.

The night run was an initiative meant to raise funds for the SPCA. Nicky Meiring, vice-chairperson of the SPCA, said the evening was a success despite them not reaching their target.

“We had a benchmark amount in mind that we did not meet. We know it was because of the weather, even though it turned out to be a lovely evening,” she said.

“The night run was a first for us and we never know what to expect with our events. We are very fortunate and grateful that we have a supporting community, and we will never stop offering fun and exciting fundraising initiatives.

“We want to thank all the like-minded people who are on this journey with us,” she says.

She encourages people to keep an eye on their Facebook page.

“Weather permitting, we will have another run later in November,” she added.
