Well wishes for the class of 2022

Matriculants hope to achieve great things as they leave their respective high schools on a high note.

The schools were quiet as classes were in progress when the matriculants collected their final results in anxious anticipation.

Many did not stay to take in the good news as they left to celebrate with their loved ones.

In the throng of activities that came with collecting their statements, the Springs Advertiser was able to talk to some of the learners who performed well.

Yasmeen Shakil from Springs Secondary School, who obtained four distinctions, said she enjoyed her high school career.

“I am sad that I won’t be sitting in a classroom anymore,” she said.

Principals of various schools also expressed their pride and well wishes for all students around Springs.

Springs Secondary School principal Dr Kishan Bodalina says they did not expect such good results.

“For me what was more staggering is the percentage of bachelor’s passes, which was 55%. So more than half of our learners can go to university and that is something to be proud of,” he said.

Principal of Springs Technical High School, Puseletso Hoaeane, says she is proud of the overall achievement of her learners.

“I hope and pray they focus on themselves and never allow bad influences to tamper with their bright futures,” she declared.

Springs Muslim School principal Mohammed Asvat remarked on the school’s 100% pass rate for the past 15 years.

“Many of us will perhaps not know the diverse composition of our matric class. Twelve out of 20 matriculants do not speak English at home. On a percentage scale, 60% do not speak English at home. Their performance speaks for itself,” he beamed.
