Investigations underway following discovery of a newborn’s body in Hlanganani Village

Dunnotar SAPS is investigating a case of concealment of birth after the body of a newborn boy was found in a blocked drain in Hlanganani Village on Sunday afternoon.

According to Sergeant Maropeng Maphaya, the discovery was made by the home’s owner and her housekeeper as they were cleaning out a clogged drain because the water was no longer flowing.

While no arrests have been made, the investigation is ongoing.

The police are appealing to the community to call Sergeant Mojalefa Radebe at 073 436 8530 if they have any information that will aid in the investigation.
