The Far East Rand Hospital celebrated its ‘We Care, We Smile’ campaign’s one-year anniversary on May 4.
The campaign was launched last year on March 3.
After a year of staff members pledging to serve patients with a smile, the anniversary celebration was a way to relaunch the campaign.
Introducing the purpose of the day, FERH CEO Sonwabo Lindani reminded all the staff members that the campaign is aimed at ensuring excellent service to the hospital’s patients.
“We are here today to remind each other about a culture of serving our patients with the dignity and respect that they deserve”, said Lindani.
The celebration also served as a wellness day, as staff members warmed up with aerobics before participating in netball and soccer games.
Departments within the institution competed against each other to boost staff morale and encourage teamwork.
Capping off the celebration on Friday, Lindani and the EVP team visited different service areas to encourage staff members to always wear a smile and applaud excellent service
