Bakerton supermarket robbed

The Best Price Superstore on Welgedacht Road was robbed on Wednesday afternoon. An employee alleges three men entered the shop looking for bulbs.

“Once helped, they went to the cashier, where all three produced firearms and demanded money.

“The complainant and two other employees were ordered to lie down, and they were searched,” explained

Sergeant Themba Tshabalala, communications officer of the Springs Police Station.

The thugs made off with two cellphones and took R8 000 from the till.

“One of the employees sustained a head injury when he was assaulted with a pistol. The suspects fled the scene in a white Suzuki Swift,” added Tshabalala.
