‘Sheroes’ in taxi industry
Women from the Springs Taxi Association Women’s Desk seek to encourage other women to join the industry.
After operating for almost two years, the Springs Taxi Association Women’s Desk has recently enhanced its looks with a new uniform.
Beauty Sikhosana, chairperson of the forum, says they are hoping to encourage other women to join the industry.
She encouraged women in Springs and Kwa-Thema with driver’s licences to join as taxi drivers or taxi owners.
“There are a lot of opportunities within the forum,” Sikhosana said.
“Joining the Women’s Desk will enable them to become independent and to take care of their families.”
