Turning Point honours the elderly

All the stationery collected over the next few weeks will be donated to families in need.

Turning Point Ministries hosted a Christmas lunch for their older members on Saturday. The church’s senior pastor, Dr David Payaniandi, said this is the time to show love to one another.

“This is our way of showing our appreciation for your continued support. Our gratitude goes much deeper than this meal,” he said.

More than 50 elders were treated to four potjies and dessert. The food was prepared by other members of the church.

Payaniandi also announced that they will embark on a stationery drive.

“I have received requests from parents and guardians for us to help them with stationery and we will do just that,” he added.

All the stationery collected over the next few weeks will be donated to families in need.

The day’s events also included a market and Christmas carols.
