All Stars Development FC come to a great close this season
This was the football club's first season since its conception in 2022.
All Stars Development Football Club recently held its award ceremony to end the season. The club, founded in 2022, held the ceremony in Wright Park.
The founder and head coach, Bongo Teta, says this season has been a great eye-opening experience for the club.
“This was our first ever season since the club was founded, with some of our boys not having any experience in league competitions. In the end, we finished eighth out of 26 teams.”
Teta says the club’s challenges mirror those of other local clubs.
“Like any other team, challenges are common. Our biggest challenge was the different backgrounds our boys come from.
“Some can contribute financially, and some cannot. I have always made it a mission to fully take on all financial costs of the team to minimise that effect on my boys.”
Teta adds there are things they are planning to improve upon in the next season.
“We only have two divisions, U13 and U15. We hope to open a senior division in 2024 for players aged 16 and 17. Growth is what I hope for the team to improve on.”
The U13s were crowned division of the year and players received gold medals.
