City to host festive theatre extravaganza
Double Bills and the Christmas Carols entrance is free.
December is said to be the most wonderful time of the year, with festivities to promote social cohesion taking place across the world, Ekurhuleni included.
As such, the city will join in on the fun by hosting exhilarating home-brewed theatre productions by world-renowned and budding thespians from in and around the city.
To kick-start the activities, from November 28 until December 10, the Dumisani Masilela Theatre in Germiston will showcase productions such as the Gibson Khente’s How Long Mfowethu.
There will also be double bills with a variety of pieces from different producers as well as Christmas carols to keep theatre lovers entertained.
Entrance to the Gibson Khente’s How Long Mfowethu is R50 and tickets will be sold at the door. Meanwhile, for the double bills and the Christmas carols entrance is free.
However, for good measure, patrons are requested to donate school stationery items and the proceeds will go to an identified shelter for children with different needs.
The schedule for all the shows this festive season:
- December 7: How long Mfowethu, 18:00 to 22:00
- December 8: How long Mfowethu (evening show)
- December 9: How long Mfowethu (evening show)
- December10: Christmas carols concert (evening show).
