Scouts give to Sweetheart Foundation
Those who have collected plastic tags and lids can drop them off at the Springs Central Air Scouts.
The Springs Central Air Scouts have been collecting bottle lids and bread tags for the Sweetheart Foundation for five years.
The foundation collects the lids and tags to recycle plastic and acquire wheelchairs for less fortunate and disabled people.
The Scouts have their second contribution for the year, and the Sweetheart Foundation needs between 600kg and 700kg for one wheelchair.
“We had messages and phone calls all year round asking to drop off and it is great to see our community helping,” said troop scouter Melissa Campbell.
If anyone would like to drop off lids or tags, do so on a Wednesday between 17:30 and 20:00 or on a Friday between 16:30 and 18:00.
The Scouts are based on the corner of Driehoek and Colliery Road, Lodeyko.
