Male’s car taken in CBD on Sunday evening

There were no shots fired nor injuries reported.

A 59-year-old man was hijacked on Sunday evening in Springs CBD. The victim alleges that he was driving his white Nissan 1400, registration HCB128GP, just before the incident.

“He stopped his vehicle and got out to look at vehicles at a car dealership when he was approached by three unknown African males.

“One suspect came to him, pointed a firearm at him and ordered him to hand over the vehicle keys,” says SAPS spokesperson Sergeant Themba Tshabalala.

The victim complied.

“All three suspects got into the vehicle and drove off.”

No arrests have been made and the vehicle is still at large. Anyone with information should report it to the SAPS.
