Pancakes for a good cause

They dedicate their time to reaching out to those in need of daily food.

Meals on Wheels (MOW) hosted its fundraising event on Friday in Petersfield. MOW offered the community tasty, fluffy pancakes for sale to lessen the organisation’s current financial burden.

In recent times, MOW has faced challenges that compromised feeding the less fortunate.

“Our situation at the moment is very tight; senior citizens are in dire need,” said MOW’s Daleen Enslin. Month to month, they don’t have the means to do much for themselves,” said Enslin.

“We really need food donations.”

Enslin stated that through this fundraising, they are looking for ways to raise more funds for the organisation.

“We are pleading with the community to assist us with donations of vegetables and non-perishable foods to enable us to serve those in need.”

Pastor Nico Theunissen added individuals or businesses that donate money to the organisation, an invoice will be issued that will allow them to claim tax for their donations.

MOW aims to reach out to the needy and provide the necessities of daily living for the poor and underprivileged people in and around the community.
