mini/MAXI Panelbeaters celebrated its 45th birthday on Wednesday. Eliso Miranda, the founder, sits comfortably in his chair as he recounts the history of his business.
“I started this company on May 1, 1979, with just three people, including myself.”
The business now boasts over 40 employees in its fold.
“I always say we are more than a business; we are a family business.”
Eliso, who affirms that it is the passion that keeps him alive, says panelbeating is all he knows and loves.
He also says he would never expand outside of Springs as it has welcomed him and been his home all this while.
“Springs has been good to me. I don’t see myself going anywhere else.”
When describing the celebration they had, Eliso says it was amazing.
“All I can say is… wow.”
The passionate Springsite prays his business reaches the half-century mark.
“God willing, my business will reach 50 years and then I will be at peace.”
When he is not running his business, Eliso spreads the word of God.
“We open with the word of God in the morning. Without Him, I would have not gotten to where I am.
He also extends his gratitude towards the businesses and people of Springs.
“I have been taken care of, and now it is time to take care of my people.”
He plans on continuing to bring about a positive change to the town.
“We see negative things through the news and it is so sad. It is time we bring something positive to the town of Springs,” said Eliso.
