Academy promotes water safety skills at learn-to-swim gala

The day also proved to be lots of fun for the little swimmers.

To promote swimming as a sport and life skill, Tadpole Swimming Academy in Dalview hosted a learn-to-swim gala on October 5.

The gala was held at St Dominic’s Catholic School for Girls in Boksburg.

“This gala was one of the biggest our swim school has ever hosted,” said Christelle Radyn, the academy’s owner.

She explained the gala saw participants from 17 swim schools on the East Rand, with 540 swimmers taking to the water.

“We hosted this gala not only to promote this vital life skill, but also to introduce children to competitive swimming,” added Radyn.
