Woman’s body found in shallow grave

Her body was discovered on October 14.

The Dunnottar police are investigating a murder case following the discovery of an unidentified woman’s body in a shallow grave in Dunnottar on October 14.

According to Warrant Officer Majang Skalkie, a security officer patrolled an open veld when he discovered a shallow grave.

“He immediately contacted the police and on arrival, they exhumed the body. They discovered that the woman’s body had visible injuries.

“We plea to the community to report any information they might have regarding the incident,” said Skalkie.

Ekurhuleni district commissioner Major General Anna Sithole said the police are standing firm against gender-based violence in all forms.

“Together, we must foster a culture that respects and values all individuals and ensures that such acts of violence are met with zero tolerance,” said Sithole.

“The police will work closely with the community to trace the perpetrator.”
