Hospice East Rand is committed to uplifting the community by training dedicated individuals to provide vital care.
Hospice East Rand is offering a comprehensive 12-month full-time training programme for individuals interested in pursuing a career in home-based personal care work.
This programme is designed to equip participants with essential skills and practical knowledge to provide compassionate care to those with life-limiting illnesses.
What the course offers:
The course combines theory-based learning, practical training, and workplace experience, ensuring a well-rounded approach to caregiving.
Participants will complete a full qualification in home-based personal care work (NQF Level 3, SAQA ID 104792), accredited by the QCTO (Quality Council for Trades and Occupations).
Modules cover key areas such as daily care, medication management, emotional support, and nutrition, preparing graduates to deliver professional and empathetic care in various home-based settings.
Who can apply?
The programme is open to individuals who meet the following requirements:
• A Grade 12 certificate with English and maths (core or literacy)
• A commitment to completing the 12-month course

Course details:
• Start date: March 3, 2025
• End date: March 31, 2026
• Cost: R26 000 (includes a 50% deposit on acceptance and 10 monthly instalments of R1 300)
• Class size: Limited to a minimum of 15 and a maximum of 20 participants
The deadline for applications is January 31, 2025.
