Springs Clinic receives donation

"Giving back to the less fortunate is what we want to do." - Silva Pandarum.

The Springs Clinic shared a moment of delight when it received a donation of toilet paper on January 8.

The need for this much-needed essential was highlighted when Ward 74 Clr Thulani Simelane visited the clinic and was saddened by their lack of certain resources.

“I was doing my surprise visits yesterday (January 7) and I saw that the capacity for toiletry in the clinic is not enough.”

He mentioned how this is very possible as there are people who are ill with chronic illnesses that would require them to make use of the toilets regularly.

Simelane reached out to local businesses in the area, Supaland Cash and Carry and Frontline Supermarket.

“They responded swiftly. They did not even ask to think about it. Silva Pandarum just agreed and told me he would make the delivery.”

He expressed his gratitude for their help.

“Thank you very much for the quick response and for taking care of the less fortunate. Organisations such as yourselves are active in the community but people are not aware. We are changing that now.”

The manager of the clinic, Fikile Sukazi, also had a few words of gratitude towards their sponsors.

“Thank you very much for responding to us because the patients and staff were frustrated. This makes a world of difference.”
Pandarum, who is the general manager, says they are also in the business of helping out their community.

“In the industry, we’re in, as much as we are there to do business, it’s not just about the money, it’s about being relevant in your community. If you’re there about making money and not contributing to the community it is wrong.”

The clinic received just over two palettes of tissues as their donation.
