YapScan, a new app to help trace lost or missing dogs, has partnered with the Springs SPCA.
Launched last August, this app is the first of its kind in SA and took a year to develop.
“YapScan uses a dog’s unique nose print, much like a fingerprint, to register pets in seconds – no microchipping, no cost and no hassle.
“If a dog goes missing, anyone with a smartphone can quickly scan its nose and instantly connect the pet to its rightful owner,” says director and founder of the app, Rob Inglis.
The partnerships with local SPCAs were signed and sealed with love.
“As passionate pet lovers, our target is to donate R1m to the NSPCA so they can continue their amazing work helping animals on the East Rand and across SA.”
Inglis says they need pet owners to complete the free registration for their dogs on the app for the donation process to make this dream a reality.
“People can be part of this meaningful initiative by simply scanning their dog’s noses using the YapScan App, and not only will they be protecting their beloved fur babies, but YapScan will donate R10 for every scan to the Springs SPCA.”
Anyone wanting to download the app can scan the QR code or click link.yapscan.com/ObjaqfzOJNb to register.
“Pet owners can simply scan the QR code, and it will take them to the App Store or Google Play, where they can download the YapScan App. From here, it is quick and easy to get set up, and pet owners can scan their dogs in just a few seconds.”
R10 will be donated to the Springs SCPA when a pet owner registers their dog using this QR code.
