Learners empowered with career guidance and education opportunities
The Gold One Modder East Operation, in partnership with the Gauteng Department of Education, hosted a career guidance day at Springs Secondary School for over 500 learners, offering insights into further education and training opportunities.
The Gold One Modder East Operation and its strategic partners recently hosted a career guidance and mapping day for learners in grades nine, 10, 11 and 12 at Springs Secondary School.
“We were guided by the Gauteng Department of Education Ekurhuleni district. The event hosted over 500 learners from various schools in the Ekurhuleni north and east districts.
“The company and its stakeholders committed to organising such events annually to assist and motivate the learners in the further education and training phase,” explained Chris Nchabeleng, the communications officer at Gold One.
The various institutions that attended exhibited further learning opportunities in tertiary institutions and those catering to occupational skills and trades. The exhibitors were training providers for trade skills and universities.
“Going forward, New Kleinfontein Goldmine has engaged the Gauteng Department of Basic Education at both districts in Ekurhuleni to explore collaboration opportunities for running awareness campaigns that would drastically reduce teenage pregnancy,” added Nchabeleng.
