Local childcare centres held a sports day on April 16 at Selpark Primary School’s sports grounds. This was an effort to bring together the schools and to facilitate a fun and educative experience.
The grade Rs and RRs from Thusanang Day Care and Pre-School, Daphney Masuku ECD, Intuthuko Day Care Centre and Pre-school, Kwa-Thema Creche, Twinkle Stars Child Care Centre, Isizwe Day Care and Preschool, Happy Kidz Valley Nursery and Preschool and Harmony Day Care proudly donned their school colours and had fun despite the weather.
Hlengiwe Maseko, the day’s coordinator, says the day was stressful but worth it.
“Seeing the children running around and jumping around with excitement as they received their medals and participation certificates made the stress of organising totally worth it.”
The day was filled with athletics, hula hoops, tug of war and ball tossing.
