Street shower event brings hope and help to Springs homeless

The visitors received clothing, blankets and food.

A kind gesture again reached the homeless people in Springs.

A street shower event at Olympia Park School on May 3 saw the needy pampered with a warm shower and a nail and haircut. They also received a shower pack, clothing like T-shirts, underwear, socks, shoes and a blanket.

Founder Winifred du Preez said God was at the initiative’s centre because it aligned with the scripture in Luke 14:16-24.

“The initiative was a great success. Some 113 visitors came in that day. We made sure to incorporate the word of God by having a ministry station, where they received a Bible and were prayed for,” she said.

The event ended with a banquet table where the visitors ate a warm plate of food.
