The Springs Mine and Military Museum has added yet another exciting military piece to its historic collection.

The mine jackhammer was donated on July 18 by Trevor Becker, the director of Becker Mining Supplies based in Struisbult.

This new edition was used at the Daggafontein Gold Mine in the 1930s. Today it is mounted on a rock plinth in the gardens of the local museum.

The founder of Springs MMM, Tony da Cruz, thanked Becker.

Visit the museum on Saturdays and Sundays from 09:00 to 12:00.
