Members of the Springs Senior Citizens Club marked the start of spring with a festive lunch filled with music, decorated hats and good company.

Springs Senior Citizens Club recently celebrated the arrival of the new season with a celebratory lunch in which the members gathered to greet the arrival of spring, dine together, and mingle.

The seniors were entertained with good music as well as a general knowledge quiz, which was won by Jill Edgar. Speaking to the Springs Advertiser, club manager Pauline Houghton said that this is a way for the members to enjoy spring.

She also said it is an occasion for them to enjoy good food and a bit of entertainment.

“We try to make it colourful for them after a long winter and for them to spend time with their friends within the club,” said Houghton.

Houghton shared that on the club’s WhatsApp, the members were told to dress up with decorated hats. The members did not disappoint as they displayed their hats in bright colours and flowers as decoration.

One of the club members, Bill Aver, told the publication that the lunch was the highlight for him.

“The members were beautiful, and the food was amazing,” said Aver.
