CoE invites locals to have say on fixed electricity tariffs

The CoE will hold public participation meetings across the metro, including one in Springs, to consult residents on the proposed fixed electricity tariffs.

The CoE will host a public participation meeting at the Kwa-Thema Civic Centre to engage Springs, Nigel, Brakpan, Benoni, and Kwa-Thema residents on the proposed fixed electricity tariffs on September 13.

The session is part of the city’s extended consultation process to address electricity issues affecting communities and ensure it considers residents’ views before making a final decision for the 2025/2026 financial year.

The ward numbers: 23, 24, 27, 28, 29, 31, 72, 74 to 80, 82, 97 and 105.

“Residents will have a chance to make their inputs on the proposed fixed electricity tariffs so that the city makes a decision that balances the needs and concerns of people and its financial sustainability, ensuring continued and reliable electricity supply to all residents,” the CoE said.
