Passenger dies in N17 crash, driver injured

A crash on the N17 claimed one life and left a person injured.

A vehicle overturned on the N17 in Springs, leaving one person dead and another with minor injuries, on the morning of September 21.

The EMPD Overload and Freeway units responded to the scene on the N17 in the direction of the west Ergo on-ramp.

The EMPD said they found a vehicle with two occupants that had overturned.

“The driver of the vehicle sustained minor injuries, while the passenger was declared dead on scene. The body was taken to the Springs government mortuary,” said the metro police.

The EMPD urged motorists and pedestrians to be cautious on the roads and always adhere to speed limits.
