Bakerton employees tackle local dumping site

In a bid to raise awareness on community responsibility and health, Bakerton Pharmacy employees cleaned up a local dumping site.

In an effort to promote community change through visibility, Bakerton Pharmacy carried out a clean-up campaign on Friday.

Employees were mobilised to clear an open space plagued with rubbish, removing debris and collecting garbage.

Blessings Mothei, one of the employees, said the main aim of the campaign was to encourage the community to keep their area clean and to raise awareness about the importance of health checks.

“We took advantage of Pharmacy Month to highlight health checks while cleaning up the area,” Mothei explained.

Pick n Pay Carnival employees also attended the event, providing refreshments. Customer service manager Thato Moima explained why their participation was important.

“We wanted to lend a helping hand by providing refreshments. It is important because we are dedicated to supporting our community,” she said.

Bakerton Pharmacy’s Shakira Choonara thanked all stakeholders and sponsors who contributed to the event’s success.
