The Strubenvale CPSF Sector 3 hosted its annual Christmas drive, bringing joy to children despite rainy weather.

With the spirit of Christmas in the air, the Strubenvale CPSF Sector 3 hosted its annual Christmas drive on December 13, travelling across the area and spreading joy throughout the community despite challenging weather conditions.

CPSF webmaster Dewald de Bruin shared with Springs Advertiser that the festive convoy led by Santa Claus made its way through the streets of Strubenvale, delivering treats to excited children waiting eagerly outside their homes.

He said the Christmas truck, beautifully decorated with twinkling fairy lights, created a magical atmosphere as families gathered to enjoy the spectacle and celebrate the season together.

De Bruin also said the initiative was a joint effort between the Strubenvale CPSF and generous donors who contribute throughout the year.

Although persistent rain threatened to dampen spirits, he added that the patrollers remained committed to completing the drive.

“The rain made it difficult, but the patrollers persevered and kept going. We got through the whole of Strubenvale by 22:30,” said Johan van Staden, chairperson of the Strubenvale CPSF.

The CPSF treasurer, Magda van Staden, thanked the Strubenvale community for their continued support and donations, which make the annual Christmas drive possible.

“Our children are our future, and to see their smiling faces makes it all worthwhile,” van Staden added.

De Bruin said the event again highlighted the unity and community spirit in Strubenvale, ensuring that the festive season began with smiles, laughter, and goodwill.
