On the evening of January 25, the ProSafe Security Company received a panic alarm from the premises at the Sasol garage on Paul Kruger at Dersley Park, where an ATM was bombed.
According to ProSafe’s Dorette van Zyl, when the response team arrived at the scene, the robbers had fled.
She said that on CCTV footage, several alleged robbers were seen withdrawing an undisclosed amount of cash from the ATM.
Springs SAPS Sergeant Charity Zwane told the publication that no injuries had been reported and that the area had been declared safe for the public.
“A case of an ATM bombing has been opened, and the matter is still under investigation,” said Zwane.
