Springs Lifestyle Centre marks milestone with sod-turning event
Stakeholders, partners and future tenants gathered on May 27 for the sod-turning event at Springs Lifestyle Centre marking another step forward in the development of the new retail destination.
The sod-turning ceremony at the Springs Lifestyle Centre marked an exciting milestone in the development of the centre.
The event, held on May 27, brought together valued partners, stakeholders and friends to celebrate the progress of the project and to share the vision for the vibrant new destination taking shape in Springs.
Springs Lifestyle Centre already features a completed Ford dealership while the Toyota dealership remains under development.
The site, located across from Springs Mall, will also be home to a Food Lover’s Market, Bestco and several other retail stores.

Franco D’Arrigo, the event’s MC, highlighted that Springs Mall currently employs more than 1 800 community members, a strong indication of the significant additional employment opportunities the new centre is also expected to create.
“We brought a first-class mall to the people of Springs to show the West that Springs is not a community to look down upon,” he said.
The centre’s representative, Stefano D’Arrigo pointed out the significance of the establishment being rooted in family.
“I would like to take a moment to sincerely thank my family for the support, hard work and commitment which has made this journey possible.

“Building something together as a family makes this achievement even more rewarding,” he said.
Stefano also spoke about what the Springs Lifestyle Centre has to offer.
“It will create opportunities, jobs, growth and a place where people can come and connect and enjoy quality experiences together,” he said.
Food Lover’s Market representative, Paul Fouche spoke about the importance of meaningful partnerships in business growth.
“I think our business has close to 1 000 doors now, and it is still a huge privilege to come to Springs and be part of this development.

“Especially from one family business to another,” said Fouche.
The MMC for Corporate Shared Services in the City of Ekurhuleni, Siphumule Ntombela said the business will thrive in an environment that helps its growth.
“This development sends a strong message that businesses have confidence in our city. It also sends a message that the government must do its part to ensure that conditions are conducive for the business to strive,” Ntombela said.
The event concluded with the sod-turning ceremony and refreshments.
