Young swimmer wins cash prize

Although the temperature was a little chilly the Blackfin swimmers improved on their own best times from last season.

Renet Kotze, Daniela Venturi, Byron Smit, Remo Venturi, Joshua Harrison, Reece Page, Benjamin Scott, Franco van Rooyen, Derryn Nel, Dylan van Biljon, Connor Page and Kieran Pinfold represented the club.

Byron (8), did extremely well, coming first in the 50m butterfly, 50m backstroke and the 50m breaststroke as well as achieving second place in the 50m freestyle.

Byron won himself over R300, as the cash prizes were, R100 for first, R70 for second and R50 for third place.
