Locals take part in Quads4Quads

Two local couples take part in the 10th Annual Quads4Quads fundraising event.

Springsites Phillip and Engela Nel and Tienie and Carien van Rooyen left Carnival City on Thursday for the 10th Annual Quads4Quads fundraising event.

The foursome are taking part in the Quads4Quads for the first time in the Milnex 212cc team.

Phillip will be driving his Hujuda 800cc side-by-side, with Engela in the passenger seat. Engela will act as co-driver, driving when needed.

Tienie and Carien will form the back-up team, and will see to all the team’s aches and pains after every leg of the race.

“The aim of the event is to raise funds for the QuadPara Association of South Africa,” says Carien.

Each day the team will travel 250km, with the first leg ending in Standerton.

Departing from there on Friday, the teams travelled to Newcastle.

On Saturday, during the third leg teams travelled to Weenen where they spent the night and on Sunday morning they headed off to Cane Cutters Resort in Ballito to finish the tour.

“An overall distance of 1 000km was travelled,” says Carien.
