England invades Springs

Ahead of the World Cup Action Cricket series taking place in Fourways this week, the Eastern Gauteng teams hosted the top British action cricket teams at the Springs Action Sports Centre last Friday.

The England over 30 and over 45 teams were invited to play against the Springs Panthers team as well as against the Eastern’s team.

The England over 30 side played in 2 games against Easterns over 23 and under 30 invite sides where Easterns over 23 team won the game 155 against 31 and the player of the match was Wernard Bester from Easterns.

England over 30 side’s second game was against the Springs invite side where Springs won the game 149 against 38 and the player of the match was again Wernard Bester.

The last game of the night was between the England over 45 side and Easterns over 30 side where Easterns won the game 87 against 58 and the player of the match was Donovan Coetzer from Easterns.

The evening was well enjoyed by all the players and the supporters, who mingled with the British players and prepared a braai to celebrate the occasion.

“All in all it was a good night with Easterns and Springs making it a white wash and winning all the games,” says manager of the Sports Centre, Nicki Ferreira.
