SOB Premier side wins

Springs Old Boys' Premier won the toss and chose to bat first in Sunday's match against Tembisa.

The opening batsman, José van der Berg, scored an outstanding 110 runs by himself.

“It really was incredible to watch him cane Tembisan bowlers all over the park,” says captain Warren Wooley.

The leading run-scorer, Dalton Smallberger, also had another great knock, hitting 70 runs. Batting with José they got a partnership of over 150 runs together.

After lunch Old Boys took the field and from ball one dominated their opponents taking five wickets by the 10th over.

After 22 overs were bowled Tembisa was only on 78 for 5 and the rain came down heavily.

Temibisa should have been on 140 runs in order to win the game but Old Boys had a better run rate and won by 70 runs.

Play was stopped due to the rain, but Old Boys scored yet again another big total of 329 runs after 50 overs.

Warren adds the top bowler was Brandon Whitehead bowling 7 overs 3 wickets for only 13 runs.

Old Boys is playing away next week against CBC Boksburg.
