Youth rugby teams shine on the field

Springs Superheroes have started the season well with all three teams, including the mixed u-6 team, doing well.

The Springs Junior Youth teams made up of the u-6, u-7 and u-8 teams, otherwise known as the Springs Superheroes, have started their season well.

Within the club, the u-6 team is the baby of the club and includes boys and girls.

The u-6 and u-7 teams only play tag rugby and the u-8 boys play tackle rugby.

They have christened their new kit and the teams had their first game on July 21 in Brakpan.

At this stage in the season, the youth teams have won over 60 per cent of their games.

The Springs Rugby Club first team also played on Saturday in the semi-final of the Valke Peregrine Tournament where they emerged victorious, beating Boksburg 31-15 at home.

The win now means the Geduld-based team will play in the final against East Rand United in Kempton Park on Saturday.
